FENCING: VOLUNTEER ASSISTANCE

FENCING: VOLUNTEER ASSISTANCE

Mark Uren has commenced as our local Fencing Co-ordinator and we welcome his involvement.

If you are still in need of boundary fencing and have not registered, please follow this link to the application form.

Mark can be contacted on 0409 001440

For Landholders wishing to engage volunteers to assist with fencing their boundaries, the following should be considered:

1. Define your boundaries
This would include survey pegs, line which the fence is to follow, position of gates and location of underground services, ie: power, telephone

2. Speak to and be in agreement with your neighbours
This includes the location and type of fence, for example, 5 strand barbed wire, ringlock or other. Note that we do not become involved with boundary disputes between neighbours.

3. Order your materials and have them delivered
The following suppliers have indicated that they would be happy to be part of this program, alternatively you may find a supplier of your choice.

Traralgon Stock Supplies - 168-170 Argyle St, Traralgon. 5174 2944

Jack Scott and Sons - Standing Drive, Traralgon. 5174 2955

Landmark - Lot 3, Standing Drive, Traralgon. 5174 2020 (Nicola Pemberton 0439 961 539)

Some suppliers will be able to assist you with estimating what materials you will need.

4. Once you have completed all of the above, please contact the
fencing coordinator in your area.

From this point, we will put you in a schedule of works and advise you of when we will be able to assist.

We would ask landholders to be present on the day that works begin.

Please note that this is not an open ended scheme and work will be completed subject to availability of volunteers and funding.
